Cristina Rizzuto HeadshotHi, I’m Cristina. A few words to describe me: writer, bibliophile, traveller, epicure, seeker. My first poetry collection, The Music Makers was published by Blaurock Press in 2012. Further writing has appeared in The Florentine; Lantern MagazineOttawa Arts Review; Dragnet MagazineFEMMELDEHYDE; WattpadBest Ultra Short Poems, a poetry anthology published by the Ontario Poetry Society; Love, Anonymous, an anthology published by CWILA (Canadian Women in the Literary Arts); and shortlisted for a literary prize on CBC Canada Writes. I am honoured to have received the 2012 Mattia International Poetry Award and the 2012 City of Vaughan RAVE Award – Rising Star in the Literary Arts. I am a trustee on the Vaughan Public Library Board and the La Rocca Memorial Society, as well as a member of CWILA, the AICW, and volunteer with World Literacy Canada. In 2014, I was awarded the opportunity to complete a Writer-in-Residence program at La Macina di San Cresci in Chianti, Tuscany, Italy. I have a passion for travel, cuisine, and learning new languages. I love to visit unique, interesting neighbourhoods, sample local flavours, and embrace different cultures and traditions. And I am always planning my next adventure.
