Hi, I’m Cristina. A few words to describe me: writer, bibliophile, traveller, epicure, café enthusiast, seeker. My first poetry collection, The Music Makers was published by Blaurock Press in 2012. Further writing has appeared in The Florentine; Lantern Magazine; Ottawa Arts Review; Dragnet Magazine; FEMMELDEHYDE; Wattpad; Best Ultra Short Poems, a poetry anthology published by the Ontario Poetry Society; Love, Anonymous, an anthology published by CWILA (Canadian Women in the Literary Arts); and shortlisted for a literary prize on CBC Canada Writes. I am honoured to have received the 2012 Mattia International Poetry Award and the 2012 City of Vaughan RAVE Award – Rising Star in the Literary Arts. I am a trustee on the Vaughan Public Library Board and the La Rocca Memorial Society, as well as a member of CWILA and the AICW. In 2014, I was awarded the opportunity to complete a Writer-in-Residence program at La Macina di San Cresci in Chianti, Tuscany, Italy. I am a volunteer with World Literacy Canada, and the founder and editor of Travel Poetry Magazine, a digital literary travel magazine. I have a passion for travel, cuisine, and learning new languages (currently learning Spanish – hola!) I love to visit unique, interesting neighbourhoods, sample local flavours, and embrace different cultures and traditions. And I am always planning my next adventure.
